Why We Are the Best?

Jay Clark Fly Fishing is owned and operated by Jay Clark. An avid outdoors man, fly fisher and back country skier, Jay is from the Sierra Valley in the Northern Sierra.

Clark spent most of his free time fishing and hiking in his backyard. After learning to fly fish in 1996, he was hooked and hasn’t looked back.

In 2006, Jay graduated from The Clearwater Lodge at the Pit River Guide School . He started his guide service shortly thereafter. Building a reputation as a consummate professional, Jay works tirelessly to help his clients achieve their goals.

In his free time, Jay can be found exploring his backyard in the Northern Sierra, chasing steelhead with a spey rod or pursuing giant cutthroat trout at Pyramid Lake.

Jay is licensed (Ca # 10784), bonded, insured and is permitted by the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. Jay Clark Fly Fishing holds a special use permit from the Plumas National Forest and works under Four Season Fly Fishing/Brian Slussers’ Tahoe National Forest permit.

I started fly fishing about 10 years ago and have been going on two or three trips with Jay almost every year of those ten years. We have fished Pyramid Lake, the Truckee, the Little Truckee, the Feather, the Yuba, Milton Reservoir, Nelson Creek, and many others. We always catch fish. We always laugh. We always have interesting discussions about life. We always see new and beautiful country. For me, Jay is just the right blend of fun and technical expertise to enjoy the day and help me progress my skill casting reading water and selecting the right flies and equipment for the days adventure. Fishing with Jay is like fishing with a good buddy that knows way more about fishing than you do. My advice, call Jay and simply ask him where the fish are and then go there and ask him to teach you what he knows.
